hello.

You've stumbled upon my creative little corner of the internet.

I'm Charlotte Casey, a multi-disciplinary designer from South London, now living in Brighton! Have a look around and you'll find all the creative projects I've recently sunk my teeth into, including lots of football crochet shirts you might've seen on socials, as well as my diary entries where I documented my time as a fashion intern in the sustainable sector of the industry.

My creative practices are rooted in eco-consciousness, as I am a self confessed eco-warrior! I am fascinated with how design and problem solving can help us to form new solutions to social and environmental issues. Feel free to stick around as I have many projects in the pipeline that align with these morals and are more sentimental to me...

what do i do?

Since graduating with a first-class-honours degree (go me!) in Fashion Textiles Print back in 2022, I realised the textile industry simply doesn't align with my sustainable morals. The vast overproduction and waste pollution caused from this sector was devastating to me, so I knew I'd like to work for a more ethical company. Sadly the lack of local opportunities within slow fashion led me back to retail, where I trained up to be a visual merchandiser; the most creative role I could find on the shop floor. Yet after a year, my intuition was screaming at me to quit, so I began my interning journey to utilise my skills and pursue a creative career.

I was lucky enough to intern for a year and a half, exploring different roles and companies working within the sustainable sector of the fashion industry. My experiences as a production assistant, digital marketing intern and content creator have shaped my perspective of the industry. I've documented my experiences within my Intern Diaries you can find here.

I'm now working for a green energy company, working in customer services - a job that honestly feels perfect for my analytical brain that loves problem solving, and it's such a sociable company too!

some of my fave work

I love being busy so I always have side projects on the go, with a never-ending to-do list of ideas. After teaching myself to crochet in lockdown in 2020, I've since created many handmade garments in my signature graphic style.

My football crochet shirts are inspired by iconic football shirts, to celebrate the teams and the culture of football. I would love to create more of these in collaboration with brands and creatives, so get in touch if you have any ideas!

I was involved in The Premier League's #FestiveFixtures Campaign, where I was tasked to create video content to showcase my craft, football and togetherness.

Coming soon

I'm also super interested with tackling textile waste as I believe this is a huge issue within the fashion industry. I've been working on some up-cycling projects behind-the-scenes, so stay tuned...
